Wind Turbines The U.S. Department of Energy anticipates that by 2030, 20% of U.S. energy will come from wind power. The focus on developing wind energy capability will continue to intensify at the local, state and national levels. With this growth in development come increased risks. Damage to the blades or generating equipment from fire, lightning or mechanical breakdown, transit exposures are just a few examples of the possible insurance loss scenarios created by wind energy production.
