Introduction to Static Risk Insurance: Warehouse Basics - 3 CE credits

Overview:   This course will cover the basic underwriting concepts related to Static Risk exposures for cargo taken out of the due course of transit and stored in warehouses or storage facilities. Items covered will be Underwriting considerations, COPE, clause/form language, risk management techniques, warehouse provider contractual obligations, NAT CAT considerations and claims amongst others. Case studies will be reviewed to provide practical knowledge and application of the material. Instructors will also share best practices for successful underwriting of this class.

Who Should Attend: Insurance company underwriters, trainees, claims personnel, surveyors, agents or brokers, shipowners, charterers and maritime attorneys and others in the marine insurance industry.

If recommendations of social distancing are extended to June, this class will be amended to be “remote attendance option only”.  All CE can be earned whether remote or in classroom. Any “in class” attendees will have the option to amend to remote option and receive a $20 credit.

Refunds/Cancellations/Substitutions: Refund requests will be honored if received at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled start date. All refunds will be subject to a processing fee of 4%. Cancellations received after the refund deadline and "no shows" are subject to the full registration fees. Substitutions may be made by notifying AIMU via email or in person on the day of the event.
