Patrick J. McNamara, Esq.
Marine Claims Adjuster, Starr Marine
Patrick J. McNamara is a marine claims adjuster in the Cargo Department of Starr Adjustment Services, Inc. Patrick joined Starr in 2016 and adjusted Hull & Liability claims prior moving to Cargo in early 2018. Previously, Patrick worked in the chartering department of Grieg Star Shipping (now trading as G2 Ocean), a Norwegian-flagged breakbulk steamship line (2011-2014) and WK Webster (Overseas) Ltd., handling cargo subrogation claims (2014-2016). Patrick is a member of the Maritime Law Association and frequently attends industry functions and seminars. Patrick holds a J.D. from Loyola New Orleans College of Law (2010) and is licensed to practice law in the State of New York. Patrick also holds a B.A. in History from the University of Scranton (2006).

U.S. Marine Claims Consultant
Norman Tucker serves as a Marine Claims Consultant for CNA.
In this role, he is responsible for handling cargo, hull, commodity, and marine liability claims. Norman is involved with providing ongoing training for the U.S. Marine Claims team. Norman joined CNA in 2009.
Prior to joining CNA, Norman worked as a ship’s agent at various ports in South Louisiana servicing vessel owners and charterers. Norman is a member of The Mariners Club of the Port of New Orleans.
Norman holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of New Orleans.
2017 American Marine Claims Award Winner
Jacqueline Nolan, Claims Specialist, CNA
The marine insurance industry has announced the winner of the 2017 American Marine Claims Award is Jacqueline Nolan, Claims Specialist, CNA. This is the fifth year of the American Marine Claims Award which is presented by the marine insurance industry. The award is supported by the American Institute of Marine Underwriters (AIMU), the Inland Marine Underwrites Association (IMUA), the Marine and Insurance Claims Association (M.I.C.A.), the Association of Average Adjusters of the United States and Canada, the Marine Claims and Recovery Forum and International Cargo Insurance Conference. The award was developed to highlight the contributions of dedicated marine claims professionals and further enhance the development of their careers. The 2017 winner receives $3,000 to cover travel and expenses as well as complimentary registration at the International Cargo Insurance Conference in Oxfordshire, England.
Jacqueline Nolan has been a Claims Specialist at CNA Financial since July 2014. Ms. Nolan is a 2016 recipient of the CNA Financial Chairman’s Award. She is a 2001 graduate of Florida International University holding a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice. Ms. Nolan received her Juris Doctor in 2004 from New York Law School. She received her Associate In Claims (AIC) designation in 2009. She is currently completing her AMIM and CPCU designations. Prior to joining CNA Financial she served as a Claims Examiner for the Marine line of business at RLI Insurance Company from 2007-2014.
