Excess Auto Liability has long been one of the non-marine exposures covered by the Marine Liability insurers’ “Bumbershoot” policies (i.e. Marine Umbrella), but it has never received the level of attention with Marine underwriters that our casualty underwriters do. This presentation is an encore to the 2022 presentation and will include updates and a new presenter, Eric Galisdorfer, in addition to return by Jeff Chen and Chuck Furlong. Discussion will include solutions and valuable insights including that Social inflation continues to plague litigation, resulting in unprecedented verdict values across the country. In addition, litigation funding is increasing in popularity and more prevalent in all types of lawsuits. As a result, the insurance industry is evolving its claims handling philosophy to better understand and manage these issues. Class will end with case studies and live Q&A.
