AIMU Volunteer Day
AIMU is into our 9th year of organizing a Volunteer Day with the New York Harbor School on Governors Island. This annual event has proven to be fun and popular – in addition to helping with a worthwhile cause. AIMU volunteers will assist the NYHS with various projects to help get the school and its facilities ready for the upcoming school year, while enjoying camaraderie and a beautiful day outdoors on historic Governors Island.
Location : Governors Island, NY (ferry departs/returns to the Battery Maritime Building, 10 South St. – just north of the Staten Island Ferry terminal building)
THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS!
What to Wear: Clothes you don't mind getting dirty, closed-toed shoes, and a hat. Wearing light colors that reflect the sun's rays helps keep you cool.
Bring: Reusable water bottle and sunscreen. We encourage participants to bring work gloves if you have them, otherwise they will be provided.
Governors Island ferries now return to Manhattan every 30 minutes on the half hours until 10pm, volunteers are welcome to stay on the Island and take a later ferry back.
